Abstract
Ovarian metastasis may occasionally represent the initial clinical manifestation of disease, especially in cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. Metastases from colon cancer are usually cystic tumors with solid components of variable size. A 47 year old woman presented with lower abdominal pain and referred from ER to gynecologic department for pelvic cystic tumor diagnosed as primary ovarian mucinous adenocarcinoma in abdomino-pelvic CT findings. During work up signs of panperitonitis developed and emergency laparotomy was performed under suspicion of a ruptured abscess which
developed in ovarian tumor metastasized from colon cancer with resection of ruptured infected right ovarian tumor. Fortunately she recovered from septic shock with 2 weeks ICU treatment and received definite surgery and chemotherapy of colon cancer.
